Configuring default settings for Windows image deployment
Michael Murgolo:In my previous post on this topic, I mentioned that Windows XP Service Pack 2 will copy the Administrators settings to Default User (see sections B & C). The new profile copy is the default behavior in SP2 with no built-in way to disable it. To disable it you had to request the hotfix from KB887816 from Microsoft Customer Support. This has changed with Windows XP Service Pack 3. The fix from KB887816 is included in SP3. (See KB946480 for a list of fixes included in SP3.) Therefore, the behavior for SP3 is no profile copy by default. To enable the p..

Windows XP SP3 Update Breaks Windows Home Server Remote Access
</quot> Windows Home Server users are reporting Remote Access problems after updating their home computers to Windows XP Service Pack 3. Older versions will not be blocked from working based on current plans, but are considered unsupported. What Unsupported Means: * No tinderbox coverage * No QA coverage * No unit test or talos performance coverage * Bugs only affecting these platforms will not be considered as blocking any release 1.9.2 or later. ** We wil..

I have the Atheros AR5005G on a Toshiba Satellite laptop running XP with SP3. I can't get WPA2 to show up in the list. I deleted the device and reinstalled but I still don't have WPA2. The computer that the modem/router is connected to is running XP SP3 also. I have Windows 7 systems which connected immediately after asking for the security key. General tab) and WindowsXP-KB893357-v2-x86-ENU.exe must be installed to support WPA2 (visit www.microsoft.com and search for KB893357 OR WPA2 Hotfix) NOTE: If you have previously set up Windows XP to connect to DuqNet you will first need to remove the connection and then click OK before adding it via the steps again. I went google on wpa2 for windows xp sp3 (click) and found that support for wpa2 is included in Windows XP SP3. For Windows XP SP2 there were two patches but those don't install on SP3. You can also find that the hardware (wireless adaptor) must support wpa2 and that the drivers may need updating.
